Brachioplasty, also known as Arm Lifting, is cosmetic surgery that is used to remove excess skin from the arms so that the arm looks smooth and firm.
If the patient also has excess fat in the arms, arm liposuction is performed to achieve better results.
Arm lift is commonly performed after different weight reduction surgeries, such as gastric bypass surgeries, which allow weight to be lost in large quantities but resulting in annoying skin flaps.
Liposuction of arms, which removes excess fat from the arms, can result in sagging skin, which is unsightly but can be removed through brachioplasty.
Also other patients who have not gone through these surgeries may have sagging skin and need an arm lift (or brachioplasty).
